Some of the most complicated cases I have handled over the past 30 years involve vicious dog bites and animal attacks. Many of these cases involve young children, who often sustain serious life threatening injuries. Some sad cases also involved permanent facial scars as well as scars on the legs and arms.

Medical costs are often very expensive as the victim of a dog bite attack has to obtain surgical treatment as well as a number of reconstructive plastic surgery procedures.

Also, when a child is injured, the Personal Injury Attorney must know how to establish a Guardianship for the Minor (this often involves having a parent appointed by a Probate Court). Therefore, the injured person (or their parents) needs to hire a lawyer that is skilled in Personal Injury matters as well as the Probate matters that are required before a case can either go to Court or be settled.

I have handled many Dog Bite and Animal Attack cases. In fact, I am often contacted by other attorneys for consultations or referrals with regard to cases involving animal owners who fail to reasonably and responsibly control, leash and/or confine their dog.

If you are attacked by a dog, consult with a personal injury lawyer who has experience in handling a case such as yours. You will need a lawyer that recognizes the importance of contacting other professionals to help establish and confirm your damages and any need for future medical care and treatment. I often work with Plastic Surgeons, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Nurses as well as the injured person’s family doctor. In addition to these professionals, I also work with Structured Settlement Brokers and Financial Planners who are capable and experienced in evaluating how to best plan for you and your child’s future financial needs as well as the future medical costs arising from the Dog Attack.
